L’oreal botanics – sounds good eh!?

I won’t do too many of these kinds of posts, but had to cover this one.

So, L’oreal have entered the natural market, or have they? Check them out here, looks ever so artisan and natural.  So it must be good right?

Perhaps not when you look at the ingredients – note the position on this listing of ‘safflower seed oil‘, one of the ingredients they are ‘ever’ so proud of….I’m excited to have safflower oil on my shelf too, although I’ll admit I ordered it in error (!)….

So here goes….AQUA / WATER , SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE , COCO-BETAINE , PROPYLENE GLYCOL , GLYCERIN , GLYCOL DISTEARATE , SODIUM CHLORIDE, COCOS NUCIFERA OIL / COCONUT OIL , SODIUM BENZOATE , SODIUM ACETATE , SODIUM HYDROXIDE , PPG-5-CETETH-20 , POLYQUATERNIUM-10 , SALICYLIC ACID , LINALOOL , LINUM USITATISSIMUM SEED OIL / LINSEED SEED OIL , ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL , CARBOMER , CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS SEED OIL / SAFFLOWER SEED OIL , CITRIC ACID , HEXYL CINNAMAL , GLYCINE SOJA OIL / SOYBEAN OIL , PARFUM

You know of course that the ingredient list is in descending order, so the wondrous ‘safflower’ seed oil actually seems to constitute very little in the great scheme of things.

All this because they think you are worth ‘trying to con’….

A bit of knowledge is ever so enlightening and fun to play with.
